A New Way of Thinking About Weight Loss

Attention All Dieters: It’s time to shift the way you think about weight loss. Instead of focusing on LOSING WEIGHT, concentrate on INCREASING YOUR METABOLISM. While these terms are kinda related, the only path to permanent weight loss is one that focuses on the problem, not the symptoms. The symptom is slow, steady weight gain. So what’s the problem? Why can’t people lose and maintain their weight loss? It’s your metabolism people!!! Most tend to think that weight loss is strictly a numbers game – they have a very watered-down “calories-in-calories-out” mentality. While calories do count, there is so much more to the weight loss game that must be considered. While I can write for hours about this, I will leave this blog post with 4 facts for you to ponder:

Did you know? A severe cut in calories actually slows down your metabolism

Did you know? Skipping meals actually slows down your metabolism

Did you know? Long bouts of cardio helps you burn fat but doesn’t increase your metabolism

Did you know? Not weight training is a big mistake if you want to lose weight because adding lean muscle tissue greatly increases your metabolism

  1. Agreed! Starving will create the opposite effect – the body will fight to hold fat tissue, not release it – big mistake and a very common one.
